Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 1/2 cups arrowroot powder/koova podi


  • 1 cups melted & sieved jaggery (adjust according to your preference)


  • 3 tbsp oconut bits /thengakothu


  • 3 tbsp grated coconut


  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder


  • 1 pinch kesar powder


  • 2 tbsp ghee


  • 2 cups water

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl add arrowroot powder, melted jaggery, water and mix well without forming any lumps.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add coconut bits and fry for a minute.
  • Add arrowroot powder mix and cook on medium flame. Constantly stir till it glossy and thickens.
  • Add kesar powder, cardamom powder, grated coconut and mix well.
  • Add 1tbsp of ghee and stir well. Cook few more minutes or till the mixture start leaving the sides.
  • Remove from the fire and pour the halwa mixture in to a greased plate.
  • Allow it to cool and cut into desired sizes and shapes.
